In reality the twins have a white father and a Jamaican mother. They both have the same father they are just fraternal twins which have a 1 in 500 chance of having different skin colors.
Thought it was really cool! When we discussed twins like this in Eva Luna and The Farming of Bones I didn't think it could really happen, We are all so much more related than we think!
